The magnetic properties of the one dimensional Cu(II)(1,4-C4H4N2)(C4O4)(H2O)4 have been studied. This compound is a typical linear chain. Susceptibility measurements show strong antiferromagnetic intrachain exchange of the order of -8.72 K with poor interchain exchange coupling. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
