Application of 2D-HYSCORE spectroscopy to tyrosine radicals Y-D(center dot) and Y-Z(center dot) in photosystem II for evaluation of spin density distributions
Two-dimensional hyperfine sublevel correlation (2D-HYSCORE) spectra of the radicals of the redox-active Y-D and Y-Z tyrosine in photosystem (PS) II were measured in Mn-depleted PS II core particles from histidine-tagged wild-type and Y-D-deficient cells of the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Detailed electronic structures of the Y-D and Y-Z radicals were evaluated based on the proton hyperfine tensors determined from 2D-HYSCORE spectra, and compared with values reported in other organisms.
