Pseudocapacitive characteristic of lithium ion storage in hydrogen titanate nanotubes
The electrochemical kinetics of lithium intercalation in hydrogen titanate nanotubes was investigated by detailed cyclic voltammetric methods. The results show pseudocapacitive faradaic characteristic of lithium storage in these nanotubes. The microstructure and morphology of electrode lamina before and after galvanostatic cycles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy. No obvious microsturcture changes were observed after 50 cycles, which was in well accordance with the excellent galvanostatic cycling stability. The pseudocapacitive behaviors of lithium storage in these nanotubes are ascribed to the open-end and layered scrolling cross-section with much larger inter-layer spacing than normal lithium intercalation materials.
