Rate coefficients for the relaxation of OH (nu=1) by O-2 at temperatures from 204-371 K and by N2O from 243-372 K
We report rate coefficients for the relaxation of OH(v = 1) by O-2 and N2O as a function of temperature. The rate coefficients for relaxation (in units of 10(-13) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1)) can be fit by the following expressions: for OH(v = 1) + O-2 between 204 and 371 K:k = (0.50 +/- 0.06)exp((342 +/- 32)/T); for OH(v = 1) +N2O between 243 and 372 K:k = (1.08 +/- 0.08)exp((162 +/- 22)/T). The results are discussed in terms of the possible mechanisms for relaxation, especially the influence of the weak chemical interaction between OH radicals and O-2. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V.
