Z-scan experiments have been performed on solutions of tBU(4)PcTiO(2)-C-60 (2) in order to explore a plausible synergistic effect. For comparative purposes we have also measured C-60 and tBU(4)PcTiO (1) derivatives. The results indicate poorer excited-state absorption of dyad 2 than those of the corresponding individual phthalocyanine and fullerene components. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
