Calix[n]arenes provided with thiols for modified electrode applications; Ring-size dependent voltammetric behavior toward ferrocene derivatives
CaIix[n]arenes (n = 4, 6) adlayers formed by thiol-aided self-assembly showed calixarene ring-size distinctive voltammetric behavior to water-soluble ferrocene derivatives. Computer simulations of the cyclic voltammetric i-E responses were made and parameters for the electrode reaction were discussed.
