The neutral network of [Ag-2(hmt)(NO3)(2)](n) was prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction studies which reveal a novel interpenetrating three-dimensional framework based both on the metal ions bound to mu 4-hmt ligands and anions bonding mode. The anion bridges give a unique helical cylinder structure motif.
