Aryl isocyanide bearing porphyrin has been prepared and polymerized by Pd-Pt mu-ethynediyl complex as an initiator to produce novel polymers. The UV-VIS absorption spectra suggest that porphyrin groups in their side chains are regularly arranged by the helical main chain of poly(isocyanide)s.
