Single water molecule recognition: A 1 : 1 complex of crownophane with water by pseudo-tetrahedral hydrogen bond formation
A 22-membered crownophane prepared via the "Tandem Claisen Rearrangement" was found to form stable 1:1 complex with water, which is incorporated into the cavity by pseudotetrahedral hydrogen bond formation and observed by DSC, TGA, and X-ray structural analysis.
