Protonation of bis-mu-diethylsilyl complex {(C5Me5)Ru(mu-eta(2)-HSiEt2)}(2)(mu-H)(H): Enhancement of bonding interaction between bridging silicon and hydride ligands
A bis-mu -diethylsilyl complex [Cp*Ru(mu-eta (2)-HSiEt2)}(2)(mu- H)(H) (2a; Cp* = eta (5)-Ce5Me5) reacted with CF3SO3H to afford a cationic bis-mu -diethylsilane complex [{Cp*Ru(mu-eta (2):eta (2)-H2SiEt2)}(2)(mu -H)][X] (4a, X = CF3SO3, BPh4). An X-ray diffraction study of 4a-BPh4 revealed its pseudo C-2 symmetric structure and mu-eta (2):eta (2)-coordination of the bridging silicon.
