Application of high pressure induced by water-freezing to the Michael reaction of alcohols with alpha,beta-enones
High pressure (about 200 MPa), which was realized by freezing water in a sealed autoclave, has been successfully applied to a high-yield Michael reaction of alcohols and alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones in the presence of a catalytic amount of DMAP and LiClO4. Only a moderate yield was obtained under atmospheric pressure.
