Structures and magnetic properties of Di- and trinuclear nickel(II) complexes with phenoxo and acetato bridges
Reactions of NiCl2.6H(2)O and Ni(CH3COO)(2).4H(2)O with tridentate ligand yielded di- and trinuclear nickel(II) complexes of [Ni-2(HL1)(2)Cl-2(MeOH)(2)] (1) and [Ni-3(HL2)(2)(CH3COO)(4)(MeOH)(2)] (2) (H(2)L1 = N-(2-hydroxybenzyl)ethanolamine), H(2)L2 = N-(2-hydroxybenzyl)propanolamine), respectively; the magnetic susceptibility measurements revealed that 1 and 2 have singlet and septet spin ground states, respectively.
