Concurrently observed activation of aryl-oxygen and alkyl-oxygen bonds in the formation of rhodium(III) complexes
The reaction of 2-(2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)benzothiazoline with [RhCl(PPh3)(3)] led to two rhodium(III) complexes, [RhCl(S-N-C(OMe))(PPh3)(2)] (1) and [Rh(S-N-O(OMe))(SNH(OMe)(2))(PPh3)] (2), accompanied by C(aryl)-O and C(alkyl)-O bond cleavage, respectively.
