Preparation of a clay pillared with rodlike cationic polysiloxane
A clay pillared with a polymer was prepared by the ion-exchange of Na-saponite with a novel rodlike cationic polysiloxane. The present material had a d-value of ca. 1.8 nm, expanded by incorporation of the polysiloxane. It provided a micropore material with a relatively large surface area of more than 300 m(2)/g in the interlayer space.
