New inorganic pigments based on amorphous cerium tungstate have been synthesized with the goal of preparing ecologically and environmental-friendly specific pigments. These pigments consist of all non-toxic elements and show brilliant yellow color. The reason for the color change was attributed to the modification of the O-2p-Ce-4f and the O-2p-W-5d double charge transfer transitions with the Zr doping.
