A novel route to the synthesis of alpha-arylselenosubstituted carbonyl compounds and nitriles
Activated alkyl halides such as alpha-halocarbonyl compounds and alpha-halonitriles easily react with tributyltin arylselenides both in fluoride-mediated reaction and without any additives. The former protocol gives corresponding selenides under the mild conditions in near quantitative yields.
