Yellow-green fluorescence of 5,11-and 5,12-bis(diisopropylsilyl) naphthacenes
5,11- and 5,12-Bis(diisopropylsilyl)naplithacenes (2a and 2b) were synthesized, and their electronic properties were Studied. In UV-visible spectra, the lowest energy absorption bands of 2a and 2b are more intense than that of naphthacene. Compounds 2a and 2b show intense yellow-green fluorescence, and the fluorescence quantum yields are almost two times higher than that of naphthacene.
