ABOUT THE INFLUENCE ON THE PRESSURE LOSS OF AN ANISOTROPIC RESISTANCE
Chemical reactors often contain solid objects, such as rods, tubes or packings, distributed within the enclosure through which the fluid flows. The pressure loss within these obstacles often depends on the flow direction. The distributed-resistance concept is used to describe the influence of this anisotropic behaviour. In order to illustrate the effect some numerical results are discussed.
