INVESTIGATIONS ABOUT THE CONTAMINATION OF WOOD, MEADOW AND ARABLE LAND IN THE FLOODPLAIN OF THE RIVER MULDE NEAR BITTERFELD BY SELECTED ORGANIC-COMPOUNDS
The flood-plain of the river Mulde represents a sink for organic compounds stemming from the river basin of the river Mulde as well as from the chemical industrial complex of Bitterfeld-Wolfen. In this area, at positions both near and far from the industrial emitters, selected organic compounds of soil profiles under wood, meadow and arable land up to a depht of 60 cm each were investigated. In dependence of the different use of the soils considerable differences of the matter concentrations were founded. The analyzed concentrations of some of the organic compounds are higher than current critical values.
