A novel titanate nanotube phosphor doped with Eu was synthesized through a facile hydrothermal treatment method. The multilayered nanotubes have an outer diameter of 12 nm and inner diameter of 4nm, with a BET surface area of 225 m(2)center dot g(-1). The nanotube was identified to have a monoclinic layered titanate structure. The Eu-doped nanotube exhibits luminescent property that is slightly different from the corresponding nanopowder.
