Hydrophobic functionalization of mesoporous SBA-15 with polyisoprene as a new drug delivery system
A novel delivery carrier system has been successfully conducted based on the ordered mesoporous silica SBA-15 with hydrophobic polyisoprene polymerized in the pores network. It is interesting to find that the result system still holds a relatively large pore size (6.5 nm) and pore volume (0.72 cm(3) g(-1)), which will benefit for the storage of drugs with relatively large molecules.
