A simple sol-gel spin-coating technique was developed to prepare FePt films. The calcining temperature was found to have great influences on the film's crystalline structure and magnetic properties. For this method, pure face-centered-tetragonal FePt film was finally obtained by calcining at 370 degrees C and subsequently reducing at 470 degrees C.
