Fire hazard in the presence of distillation coal products
Chemical coking products possess specific technological indices. Special attention should be paid to the characteristics of fire and explosion hazards. So far this aspect has been studied in very few substances from the coking process and there is no data at all on the coal tar and its distillation products. The paper presents data on the specified temperature indices of fire hazard in the presence of coal far components and on the calculated and experimentally founded combustion point of the studied samples. Derivatographic tests with technical and sublimated naphtalene have shown slight differences in the movement of the curves probably resulting from the different purity level of the samples. The obtained results shown that the tested substances are highly inflammable and explosion-hazardous. This hazard requires special measures to be taken in fire extinguhing operations.
