Heat transfer and pressure drop on the shell-side of in-line tube banks with elliptic tubes
Heat transfer and pressure drop on the shell-side of tube bands having elliptic tubes have been experimentally investigated. The effects of arrangements of tubes on heat transfer coefficients and pressure drop were discussed. The experimental results show that the mean Nusselt number of in-line tube bands with elliptic tubes is slightly lower than those of staggered elliptic tube bands or circular tube banks while the resistance of the former is muchless than those of the latters.
