Production of low-sulfur electrode coke from medium-sulfur petroleum resids
The area of application of petroleum cokes is primarily determined by the sulfur content, which should be under 1% in electrode coke and under 1.5% in anode coke. The concentration of ingredients (sulfur, metals, ash, etc.) in coke is primarily a function of the properties of the crude oil.
