A self made gas-liquid jet bioreactor in spray flow mode is used in the two-stage multiple shoot culture of C. roseus. The experimental results show that the gas-liquid jet bioreactor is suitable for the multiple shoot culture of C. roseus in two stages, arid the multiple shoots of C. roseus reach a high as 35g(dry wt.).L-1 of biomass content and as high as 1.18% (dry wt) of total indole alkaloids.
