A mathematical model of coagulation processes
On the basis of population balances, a model is presented for calculating floc size distributions for coagulating particles in an aqueous suspension with turbulent flow. The results show the significant influence of the local energy input in the coagulation reactor. Good agreement is found with real floc systems analyzed by image processing.
