A model was proposed for the drug release from a coated matrix System. To validate this model, 5-Fu/EVAL matrices coated with various polymeric materials with different diffusivities were prepared and characterized. These coated systems were experimentally investigated and graphically and quantitatively compared with theoretical values. The results show a good correlation between theory and experiment.
