Investigation of the formation of cristobalite from the diatomaceous clay Moler using powder X-ray diffractometry data and profile refinement methods
The formation of cristobalite from the diatomaceous clay moler was investigated ex situ in the temperature range 800 degrees -1200 degreesC using powder X-ray diffractometry and in situ in the temperature range 1000 degrees -1100 degreesC using the same method. Profile analysis of the powder patterns was used to determine the quantity of beta -cristobalite in the in situ experiments and the quantity of alpha -cristobalite in the ex situ experiments.
