Fabrication and characterization of gamma-LiAlO2 matrices using an aqueous tape-casting process
A new aqueous tape-casting process that is simple and environment friendly has been developed to fabricate the gamma -LiAlO2 matrix for molten-carbonate fuel cells (MCFCs). Very-fast-drying green sheets having a thickness of 500-600 mum, no defects, and good workability have been obtained using an aqueous tape-casting process and protein, The microstructure of the gamma -LiAlO2 matrices (50%-60% porosity and 0.15 mum average pore size) required in a MCFC matrix can be prepared using this method.
