The density changes on cooling and heating of selected Pb-Sn alloys during the precipitation and dissolution of the beta-Sn phase
The effect of ramp cooling and ramp heating on the density of Pb-Sn alloys containing 4, 8, 15, and 20 at.% Sn was measured in the temperature range between 190 degreesC and ambient. It was found that the precipitation and dissolution of beta -sn and the ramp rate had a significant effect on the density of the alloys as a function of temperature.
