Synergism in photosensitivity for a single-layered photoreceptor comprising crystalline mixture of metal-free phthalocyanine with chloroindium phthalocyanine
The photosensitivity of an organic single-layered photoreceptor comprising crystalline mixture of metal-free phthalocyanine (H2Pc) and chloroindium phthalocyanine (InClPe) was investigated. The photoreceptor exhibited enhanced photoconductivity in the visible region while still remaining high photoconductivity in the near-infrared region. UV-Vis spectra suggested that there was no detectable interaction between InClPc and H2PC molecules in the ground state. X-ray diffraction measurements showed that an aggregate state change of H2Pc/InCIPc took place. Based on XPS, an intermolecular partial charge transfer was observed and taken as the microcosmic mechanism of coordination-enhanced photosensitivity. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
