Thermal behavior of various zinc cyclo-phosphates
The thermal behavior of various zinc cyclo-phosphates (zinc cyclo-tri-, Zn-3(P3O9)(2)(.)1 1H(2)O; cyclo-hexa-, Zn(3)P(6)O(18)(.)10H(2)O; cyclo-octaphosphates, Zn(4)P(8)O(24)(.)20H(2)O; abbreviated as ZnP3m, ZnP6m, and ZnP8rn, respectively) were investigated with thermogravimetry differential thermal analyses (TG-DTA), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), and high-performance liquid chromatography-flow injection analysis (HPLC-FIA). With increasing of temperature, cyclo-triphosphate changed to short-chain phosphates at 200 degreesC, and then further changed to cyclo-tetraphosphate, finally changed to insoluble highpolyphosphates (Pinsol+) at 700 degreesC. The behaviors of cyclo-hexaphosphate were similar to those of cyclo-triphosphate except of temperatures of transformations to cyclo-tetraphospliate. On the other hand, cyclo-octaphosphate dehydrated of almost all crystallization waters at about 100 degreesC, and decomposed to ortho-(P-1), di- (P-2), tri- (P-3), Oligo- (P-4-P-20: P-oliogo), and soluble polyphosphates (
