Solution phase synthesis of CuO nanorods
CuO nanorods were obtained through the reaction of cupric dodecyl sulfate (Cu(DS)(2)) and NaOH at 80 degrees C. The products were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, selected area electron diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. The probable mechanism of the formation of CuO nanorods was discussed. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
