New wide-band nonlinear optics CsGeCl3 crystal
CsGeCl3(CGC) has been studied because of its wide-band transparency range and higher nonlinear optical coefficients. This paper will report the crystal growth conditions and properties of CsGeCl3(CGC). Samples microcrystallized in different solutions were studied and it was found that CGC has different crystalline morphology in different solvents. The solubility of CGC in HCl mixture solution was measured, HCl and HCOOH solution were selected for crystal growth and transparent crystals have been grown from a HCl solution. The properties of CGC crystal were measured and the results show that CGC is a potential material for frequency-doubling application in a defined region.
