TGS single crystals doped by Pd(II) ions
Single crystals of triglycine sulphate (TGS) doped with Pd(II) were grown from aqueous solutions by means of the slow cooling method. Concentration of the doping compound PdSO4 in the growth solutions varied from 0.3 to 5 mol%. Morphology, domain structure and P-E hysteresis loops have been investigated. The effect of the dopant on the crystal growth velocity is explained on the basis of the notion of an activated Pd(II)-glycine complex.
