Uses of State Estimation for Statistical Process-Control
The detection of out-of-control states and the diagnosis of the sources of disturbances are two important tasks for Statistical Process Control (SPC). A methodology for performing SPC in chemical processes is proposed here. This approach utilizes a process model and state estimation techniques. By using this approach, disturbance can be detected and isolated from possible sources.
