Application of Factor-Analysis to the Resolution of Biochemical Reaction Networks
The application of statistical methods previously used in the study of chemometrics is presented for the resolution of biochemical reaction networks. Several methods are adapted from other fields, and in addition, several new techniques are proposed. The new techniques involve the extraction of reaction extents (i.e., the integral of reaction rate) and stoichiometries. These tools presented here are intended to be used interactively in the investigation of reaction networks for bioprocesses. Experimental results of a fed-batch Baker’s yeast grown on glucose are presented.
