State Estimation and Control for Systems with Delayed Off-Line Measurements
An extended Kahman filter is described as part of a control system for a simulation of a fedbatch biochemical reactor. The estimator utilizes noisy measurements of oxygen concentration and oxygen uptake rate with infrequent and time-delayed measurements of biomass and substrate concentrations to estimate the state of the system. The state estimates are used with a feedback controller to track the optimal trajectory for biomass production.
