Modeling and Control of an Industrial Azeotropic Train
This paper analyses both the steady-state and dynamic behaviour of an azeotropic train of columns from an existing industrial plant so as to assess the requirements and the operative policy necessary to allow heat integration, simultaneously contemplating a significant increase in the plant’s productive capacity. The main features of the problem are the presence of strong nonlinearities and a high degree of sensitivity. An appropriate control policy was designed on the basis of the dynamic results.
