Performance Evaluation of Catalytic Processes
The paper presents methods that are used for performance evaluation of catalytic processes, such as processes for manufacturing of ammonia, methanol, hydrogen, and synthesis gas. For an optimization of such processes it is necessary to evaluate the state of the catalytic reactors, in particular the relative catalyst activity. The paper presents the principles for data reconciliation, and rigorous performance evaluation of the catalytic reactors. The preparation of synthesis gas is used as an industrial case example.
