Radio-frequency and microwave applications of high-T(c) superconductors (HTSC), for example delay lines (see figure) require films exhibiting a low surface resistance. A method has recently been developed for processing thick films of HTSC which results in a higher critical current density and lower surface resistance than previously achieved.
