Research News: The co-esistence of different magnetic phases, (i.e. ferromagnetic, antiferromagnetic, paramagnetic) mixed on a nanostructure scale has a profound influence on the soft/hard magnetic behavior of the materials. The effects of thermal treatment of these multiphase systems has been examined and a strong interdependence found between the nanostructure and the exchange correlation length.
