MOLECULAR AGGREGATION-INDUCED PHOTOCARRIER GENERATION IN LAYERED ORGANIC PHOTORECEPTORS INCORPORATING AZO-COMPOUNDS
The high photosensitivity of azo-compound-based photoreceptors is considered to be due to molecular-aggregation-induced geminate-pair dissociation rather than a photo-induced electron-transfer reaction. Both aggregated and non-aggregated carrier-generating materials are employed in order to investigate the mechanism of this process, which has practical implications for the development of electrophotography.
