Communication: Molecular metals based on the [3]radialene structure (see Fig.) as the acceptor are reported. They represent the first radialene and also the first non-benzenoid aromatic compounds to afford molecular metals, Compressed pellets of these accepters complexed with TTF and TTT exhibit remarkable metallic behavior. The synthesis and the characterization of the materials are presented.
