Silicon-carbon bonds on porous silicon surfaces
The photoluminescence properties of porous silicon have been recently investigated through the attachment of a variety of alkenes and alkynes to the surface using hydrosilylation reactions. As an example, the photograph in the Figure shows the photoluminescence of a silicon surface that has been photopatterned by reaction with 1-dodecyne. Results are summarized in this report.
