Synthesis of molded monolithic porous polymers using supercritical carbon dioxide as the porogenic solvent
Communication: Continuous porous polymer monoliths that take on the shape of the reaction vessel are described. These materials are generated by polymerizing crosslinking monomers such as trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRM, see Figure) in supercritical CO2. It is demonstrated that the pore size distribution can be fine-tuned with pressure or reverse micellar imprinting.
