Electrochemically induced, reversible morphology changes of regioregular oligo-3-alkylthiophene film
The solid-state electrochemical properties of sexi(3-octylthiophene), 6OT, see Figure, which is assumed to be an excellent model system for regioregular poly(alkylthiophenes), are reported. The electrochemically induced, reversible appearance of hills and valleys in the film is thought to confirm the formation of pi dimers or pi stacks as suggested previously.
