Minimum hot-cold and electric utility cost for a finite-capacity reservoir system
This paper quantifies the minimum hot-cold-electric utility cost for a finite-capacity reservoir system. A non-convex, nonlinear optimization problem formulation is presented whose global optimum is identified in analytic form. The optimum electric, hot, and cold utility usage is also explicitly identified. A case study on distillation is employed to illustrate the method.
