Interaction with olefins of the partially polarized surface of silver nanoparticles activated by p-benzoquinone and its implications for facilitated olefin transport
Silver nanoparticles activated by electron acceptors, such as p-benzoquinone, are used as olefin carriers for facilitated olefin transport. Poly(ethylene-co-propylene) (EPR)-Ag-0-p-benzoquinone (p-BQ) membranes show good separation performance of propylene-propane mixtures over periods longer than 100 hours. The ideal separation factor through 1:1:XEPR/Ag-0/P-BQ membranes with varying weight ratios of p-BQ to EPR is shown in the figure.
